A project-intake connection

Need a Mechanical Engineer for a Florida Project?

A mechanism, product, machine or prototype usually becomes easier to discuss once the problem, current stage, physical constraints and required credentials are clear. This page is a way to start that definition.

Paper Boat Media is not an engineering firm. I may be able to introduce a well-defined project to an independent resource, but the engineer must decide whether the work fits and whether licensure or additional disciplines are required.

Start before the CAD file

A good engineering conversation begins with the decision the project needs next

Some projects need concept development. Others need calculations, mechanism design, material selection, tolerance work, design for manufacturing, failure analysis, a prototype plan or a practical review of why an existing idea is not behaving as intended. Those are different assignments.

What must it do?

Describe the user, motion, load, environment, interfaces and failure that cannot occur.

What exists now?

Share sketches, photos, models, test results, prior decisions and the parts of the problem that remain uncertain.

What decision is next?

Concept selection, feasibility, prototype, supplier handoff and signed documentation require different scopes.

Projects are screened, not promised

Physical-product and mechanism questions may be a fit

Examples include a new mechanism, fixture, enclosure, small machine, consumer product, industrial component, prototype, redesign or a troubleshooting problem involving motion, loads, heat, materials, manufacturability or assembly. A short description is enough for the first pass.

Include the Florida location, industry, intended user, current stage, dimensions or loads if known, target timeline, available budget range, existing intellectual-property constraints and the deliverable you believe you need. Also say if electrical, controls, software, civil, structural, architectural, environmental or other disciplines are involved.

The project defines the credential

Licensing, signing and sealing cannot be assumed

Florida regulates professional engineering practice. If the project involves public safety, permits, code compliance, signed or sealed documents, expert opinions or other regulated work, identify that need before an introduction. The Florida Board of Professional Engineers publishes licensure, engineering business registration, signing and sealing, enforcement and license-search resources.

An introduction does not verify that one engineer covers every required discipline or accepts responsible charge for prior work. The engaged professional must define the scope and responsibility directly.

If you operate an engineering company and need marketing strategy rather than project engineering, that is a separate intent. Visit the engineering marketing agency page instead.

Questions before the next step

Frequently asked questions

Does Paper Boat Media provide engineering services?

No. This page collects enough project context to decide whether an introduction to an independent mechanical engineering resource may make sense.

What if the project requires a Florida Professional Engineer?

Say so at the beginning. Licensing, discipline, responsible charge, signing and sealing requirements must be evaluated by qualified professionals. Verify credentials through the Florida Board of Professional Engineers and state license search.

Can I submit only an idea?

Yes, but describe the user, problem, current stage, physical constraints and desired next decision. A useful problem statement is more valuable than a request to sign an NDA before any context is shared.

Describe the problem, the stage and the next decision

Send a non-confidential summary with the Florida location, physical constraints, current materials and the deliverable you think you need. I will tell you if an introduction appears sensible.
