Curiosity, introductions and work worth doing

Florida Connections and Special Projects

This is my field board for the unusual things that do not belong in a conventional services menu: a stalled De Tomaso Pantera, an independent motorcycle repair introduction, a mechanical problem that needs the right mind, local storytellers, Florida downtowns, rare cards and people doing memorable work.

One important distinction: these are not products and this is not a paid directory. Some are personal searches, some are introductions for friends and some are invitations to start a useful conversation.

Specific searches with a real person on the other end

I would rather publish a clear, honest notice than pretend every interesting request is a formal business line. These pages describe the exact fit, what information would help and what Paper Boat Media is not providing. Planning a home, travel, creative or restoration project? The project guides and connections collection helps you organize the details before you ask for an introduction.

SEARCH 01

An unfinished Pantera in Florida

I am looking for a stalled, stored or abandoned De Tomaso Pantera project that a friend may be able to finish and preserve.

INTRO 02

Independent Harley-Davidson repair

Owners in Central Florida can share the motorcycle, symptoms and location so I can decide whether an introduction makes sense.

PROJECT 03

A mechanical engineering problem

For prototype, mechanism and product-development questions, the first step is defining the actual problem and the required credentials.

A local creative signal

Writers, podcasters, actors and filmmakers across Central Florida

I want the people making good things in Volusia, Seminole, Lake, Flagler and Orange counties to have a simple way to find me. This is a community invitation, not a disguised consulting page and not a county-by-county set of cloned pages.

Florida is the subject

Downtowns, originals, forgotten places and people who still know how to fix things

Some of the most useful work begins before there is a polished brief. It starts with a person who knows the story, a building that still matters, a shop full of hard-earned knowledge or a downtown association trying to make many separate efforts feel like one place.

DOWNTOWNS

Florida Main Street work

One page is for association leaders seeking marketing help. A separate guide explains the people and preservation-based work behind Florida Main Street programs.

Objects with stories

A grail series that does not compete with the sports-card page

The existing sports-card collecting and marketing page owns the broad topic. These essays take a narrower route: one named object at a time, with attention to why it matters, how provenance changes the story and what collectors should verify before believing the legend.

BASEBALL

Two cards bigger than a price guide

The T206 Honus Wagner and 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle, considered as objects, stories and tests of provenance.

How to send something useful

  1. Choose the closest page. Each request asks for different facts. A Pantera lead needs photos and ownership context. An engineering question needs scope, stage and requirements.
  2. Send context, not a pitch blast. Tell me where it is, who is involved, why it matters and what a good outcome would look like.
  3. I will decide the next step. That may be a reply, an introduction, a request for more detail, an editorial conversation or a polite pass.
  4. No automatic publication. A submission does not become a profile, endorsement or public listing without a separate decision.

For broader collector-car work, visit Rare and Collector Cars. For inventions and physical products, the Florida invention and prototype projects page explains the earliest screening questions.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a directory of vendors?

No. This is a curated set of searches, invitations and possible introductions. Paper Boat Media does not sell the repair or engineering work described here.

Can I submit a person, place, collection or project?

Yes. Send enough context to understand why it matters, where it is in Florida and what kind of introduction or story you have in mind. Submission does not guarantee publication or an introduction.

Will every special project become a client engagement?

No. Some are personal searches, some support friends, some may become editorial stories and some may become marketing work. Each page explains its own boundary.

Have a lead that belongs on this board?

Use the relevant project page when possible. If nothing fits, send a concise note with the location, people involved and why you think I should pay attention.
