PAPERBOAT MEDIA / ROBERT URBAN / TOWING & ROADSIDE

Towing company marketing.
The right calls.
The next account.

An incoming call is only useful if you can serve it. A commercial relationship is only valuable if the work fits your fleet, coverage and business.

I help towing and roadside operators connect visibility, customer communication and sales follow-through with work they actually want. You work directly with me, Robert Urban, from the first diagnosis through the agreed execution.

Talk to Robert about your business

START WITH THE WORK YOU WANT

More ringing is not
the whole assignment.

A campaign can generate calls and still create a poor day for the business: wrong locations, unsupported vehicles, price misunderstandings or requests that arrive when suitable capacity is unavailable.

I start by understanding which jobs you want more of, where you can realistically serve them and what happens between an inquiry and a completed job. That can reveal a targeting problem, a website problem, a qualification problem or a gap in how opportunities are followed up.

The solution might be a tighter campaign for a specific service area. It might be a clearer heavy-duty capability page. It might be a practical account-development program for repair shops and fleet operators. The assignment follows the business problem.

Useful first question

“If I brought you ten more inquiries tomorrow, which ones would you want, and which would waste your time?”

DIFFERENT OPERATORS / DIFFERENT PROMISES

Your fleet changes
the conversation.

A roadside-only operator and a heavy-recovery company should not sound interchangeable. I build the customer journey around verified capabilities, service boundaries and the way each kind of work is bought.

01

Light-duty towing

Passenger vehicles, breakdowns, scheduled shop deliveries and other work your business actually performs. Customers need to understand location coverage, supported vehicle situations, destination arrangements and how to reach a person who can confirm the job.

The marketing task is often to reduce uncertainty quickly, without presenting an unconfirmed arrival time or a universal price as a promise.

02

Roadside assistance

Battery help, tire-related assistance, fuel delivery and lockout services, where offered. Someone searching for roadside help may not need a tow. Clear service distinctions can prevent an unnecessary call and help the right customer explain the problem.

I can separate campaigns and page content by genuine service availability, so a broad “roadside” message does not imply every service is always available.

03

Heavy-duty towing & recovery

Commercial vehicles and complex assignments require a more substantive capability story. Your approved equipment information, geographical reach, experience evidence and contact process should help a qualified buyer decide whether to start a conversation.

I translate operator-approved facts into useful marketing. Recovery planning, equipment selection and technical decisions stay with the people qualified to make them.

04

Specialty vehicle transport

Collector cars, luxury vehicles, motorcycles or other specialty categories deserve precise information about what you actually transport and how an inquiry is assessed. Customers may research carefully before they contact you.

Useful content can explain the information needed for a quote, scheduling considerations and documented service options, without borrowing capabilities from a different transport business.

05

Regional & multi-location fleets

Multiple branches create a routing and consistency problem as well as a visibility opportunity. Service areas, phone paths, branch information and campaign coverage should agree with how the operation handles work.

I can help develop location priorities, consistent page structures and reporting that makes branch differences visible without producing interchangeable town pages.

06

Mixed-service businesses

A towing company may also offer repair, storage or other services. Each needs a clear role in the customer journey. Someone arranging a breakdown tow should not have to navigate a general automotive brochure to understand the next step.

For repair-led businesses, my auto repair and mechanic consulting page covers the broader shop-growth assignment.

SCOPE THE WORK TO THE BUSINESS

One truck. A specialist fleet.
A network of branches.

Owner-operated

Your time is limited, and you may be answering the phone while managing everything else. A focused engagement can address one market, a few profitable service categories and the most important contact friction. A complicated marketing stack may be unnecessary.

Growing local company

With more drivers or service vehicles, inconsistency can become expensive. I can help align the website, advertising, call qualification and follow-up so growth does not depend entirely on the owner remembering every opportunity.

Specialist or regional operator

A narrow but valuable capability may need evidence, targeted outreach material and a better inquiry path more than broad advertising. We can define the right buyers and create content that answers their practical questions.

Established multi-location business

I can take responsibility for a defined initiative: a branch rollout, a service-line campaign, account-facing content or an independent review of acquisition and conversion. Internal owners, approvals and system dependencies are agreed before execution.

GROWTH PATH 01 / SERVICE CALLS

The customer has a problem.
Make the next step obvious.

An urgent customer may be on a phone, unfamiliar with the area and unsure which service they need. Your page should help them recognize a relevant provider and reach the right contact without making promises the operation cannot confirm.

  1. Recognize the service

Show the actual towing or roadside services offered. Use plain language and distinguish immediate assistance from scheduled transport requests.

  2. Check the area

Explain realistic coverage. A visitor should not have to infer whether a distant location, highway corridor or surrounding community is served.

  3. Reach the right person

Make the service contact visible on mobile. An account inquiry and an urgent request may need different routes, depending on how your business is staffed.

  4. Confirm the details

The person handling the request confirms relevant details, availability and expectations. The website supports that conversation instead of pretending every job is identical.

What I would inspect

I review the journey from a search or advertisement through the landing page and contact action. Does the ad describe the same service as the page? Is coverage understandable? Does a button call the intended number? Does an after-hours visitor receive an accurate expectation?

Where data and permissions allow, I can compare inquiry patterns with the work the business actually accepts. The point is to find specific mismatches that marketing can address.

What I can change

Service explanations, mobile contact design, ad messaging, location information, inquiry forms and the way scheduled work is distinguished from urgent calls. I can also develop operator-approved questions and response material for the people handling inquiries.

If the business cannot reliably answer additional calls during certain periods, that belongs in the campaign discussion. Buying more attention cannot by itself resolve an availability problem.

GROWTH PATH 02 / COMMERCIAL ACCOUNTS

A fleet manager is buying
a working relationship.

An account prospect may need to assess capability, coverage, communication, documentation and how a request gets handled. A consumer “call now” page rarely answers all of those questions.

A concrete assignment

Build a commercial capability page, a concise introduction document, a qualification form and a follow-up sequence for approved prospects. Then track conversations and opportunities, rather than treating document downloads as new accounts.

My role can include the research, positioning, writing, page implementation and agreed campaign work. Your team approves commercial promises and handles the operational and contractual decisions. We establish who owns each step so a promising inquiry does not disappear between marketing and the business.

A SEPARATE SOURCE OF WORK

Provider networks
have their own journey.

Direct consumer demand, independently won commercial accounts and work received through a provider network are different sources of opportunity. Mixing them in one “lead” total can obscure where demand comes from and what the business controls.

For example, Agero’s service-provider information describes a network spanning several service categories. Its fleet offering illustrates another route through which organizations arrange assistance. Those are provider descriptions, not an endorsement or a statement that your company will qualify.

I can help explain your business accurately, organize marketing evidence and separate demand sources in reporting. Network admission, assignments, rates and terms are matters for the relevant organizations and your business. A website project should never imply that it can guarantee access to that work.

WHAT I CAN TAKE ON

From the diagnosis
to the work getting done.

Find the acquisition problem

Review positioning, competitors, existing pages, campaigns and available inquiry data. Identify whether the immediate issue is visibility, relevance, trust, contact friction or follow-up. Deliver a prioritized plan tied to an actual business objective.

Rebuild the customer journey

Write and implement service content, improve mobile contact paths, organize location information and distinguish urgent requests from scheduled or commercial inquiries. Use your approved capabilities instead of generic claims about being the best.

Improve campaign quality

Develop or refine search campaigns and landing experiences within the agreed scope. Review the kinds of inquiries being generated and adjust messages and targeting using evidence the business can provide.

Develop commercial material

Create capability pages, introduction documents, account inquiry questions and follow-up content. Give a serious buyer enough information to evaluate fit and give your team a consistent way to continue the conversation.

Make reputation useful

Improve how authentic reviews and approved evidence are presented. Create a practical, platform-appropriate feedback process and response guidance. Customer concerns can also reveal confusing expectations that the website should address.

Connect activity to outcomes

Define meaningful inquiry categories, establish feasible tracking and build reporting around accepted and completed work where data supports it. Explain what can be attributed, what remains unknown and which next action the evidence supports.

MEASUREMENT / A BETTER DEFINITION OF PROGRESS

Follow the inquiry
past the phone call.

The reporting should distinguish a contact action from a suitable opportunity and a suitable opportunity from work actually completed. The definitions depend on the records your business can maintain.

01

Inquiry

A call or form request arrives. Duplicates, spam and unrelated contacts need separate treatment.

02

Relevant request

The requested service and location fit the business. Relevance does not yet mean availability.

03

Accepted work

The operation agrees to handle the request. Reasons for other outcomes can inform the review.

04

Completed job

The work is completed. Where available, revenue, direct costs and repeat business add context.

Service-call reporting

Useful measures may include relevant inquiries by service and area, accepted work, completed jobs and acquisition cost. Missed or unanswered calls can be important context, but marketing attribution alone will not explain why every job was lost.

A lower cost per call is not automatically better if the calls are less suitable. Revenue attributed to advertising is also not the same as profit. We use the most meaningful measures the available data can support.

Account-development reporting

Commercial work needs a different view: relevant organizations reached, substantive conversations, qualified opportunities, accounts opened and work actually received. The time between first contact and an active relationship may be longer than a consumer call journey.

I can help establish source labels and follow-up stages without pretending every touchpoint can be tracked perfectly. The objective is enough clarity to make better decisions, not an elaborate dashboard that nobody uses.

ONE CONSULTANT / DIRECT RESPONSIBILITY

The breadth you want.
The person you hired.

PaperBoat Media is my business. I am your point of contact and the person doing the agreed work. You do not hire me for the sales conversation and then inherit a junior delivery team.

I bring strategy, customer-journey thinking, search, content, advertising and measurement together in a practical engagement. You get that range of expertise without paying to support a conventional agency structure around the assignment.

That does not mean unlimited work or every specialist discipline in one contract. We agree on the problem, deliverables, access, approvals and execution responsibilities. If a requirement depends on your software provider or another specialist, I identify that dependency before promising the implementation.

HOW WE START

Bring the business problem.
We will define the assignment.

01

Understand the operation

Your services, fleet categories, locations, coverage and preferred work. We also discuss the opportunities you do not want, how inquiries are handled and the limits that marketing needs to respect.

02

Choose the first priority

A focused diagnostic, a service-page rebuild, a campaign improvement or a commercial-account initiative. I explain the work, dependencies and what we can reasonably measure before the scope is agreed.

03

Execute and review

I complete the agreed work and review what the evidence shows. We adjust where the data supports a change and keep the business objective in view instead of treating more activity as automatic progress.

A useful first message includes your website, service area, operator type and the problem you most want to solve. A broad description is enough to start; detailed business information can be discussed through an appropriate channel later.

QUESTIONS BEFORE WE TALK

Towing marketing,
without the vague answers.

Do you work with heavy-duty towing and recovery companies?

I can help with marketing positioning, capability content, commercial inquiry paths and campaigns based on verified services. Technical recovery decisions, equipment suitability and operating procedures belong with qualified personnel.

Can you help a roadside-only provider?

Yes. The content and campaigns can focus on the roadside services actually offered, rather than implying the business also provides towing. Clear coverage and availability information matter here.

Can you help with fleet and commercial accounts?

Yes. I can research relevant customer categories and create capability pages, introductory material, inquiry questions and follow-up content. Account acceptance, commercial terms and operational commitments stay with your business.

Can you get us into a motor club or provider network?

I do not promise network admission, assignments or rates. I can help present your approved business information clearly and distinguish network-sourced work from other demand sources in reporting.

Do you provide towing dispatch or answer service calls?

No. This page describes marketing consulting and execution for towing businesses. Your operational team or chosen service handles dispatch and customer service calls.

How do you separate emergency calls from fleet-account opportunities?

A stranded driver needs a clear service area, contact route and accurate statement of availability. A fleet buyer may be evaluating coverage, capabilities, account arrangements and a dependable escalation contact for future work. I can give those visitors different destinations and separate their reporting. Emergency acquisition can be reviewed against accepted and completed jobs; commercial outreach needs opportunity stages and follow-up over a longer period. Combining both into one cost-per-call figure hides what each investment is intended to achieve. Dispatch decisions and response commitments remain with your operation.

TELL ME WHAT BETTER WORK LOOKS LIKE

More of the right calls.
A stronger account pipeline.
A clear place to start.

Tell me what you operate, where you serve and what is getting in the way. I will help you determine whether there is a useful assignment we can define together.
