Why Fun Spot Still Feels Like Florida to Me

There are a lot of places in Florida where you can spend money. There are fewer places where you can spend time and actually feel like it mattered.

As a Florida father, that difference means everything to me.

I love the big moments as much as anybody. I love hearing my kids laugh so hard they can barely breathe. I love the look on their faces when a ride takes off and suddenly they are brave, wild, fearless little versions of themselves. I love the ritual of a family day that starts with sunscreen, a half-chaotic car ride, and at least one person asking if we are there yet before we have even made the first turn.

But what I love most is finding a place that still feels fun in the old-school sense of the word. Not overproduced. Not overly polished. Not so corporate that you feel like you need a second mortgage just to buy a soda and stand in line.

That is what I love about Fun Spot.

Fun Spot feels like the kind of place Florida families are built on. It feels local, loud, happy, a little sunburned, and full of memories waiting to happen. It feels like the kind of place where a dad can still be a hero for the day without having to plan a military operation three months in advance.

That matters.

Because fatherhood is not really made up of giant speeches or cinematic moments. It is made up of ordinary days that become unforgettable because you were fully there. It is made up of sticky hands, tired feet, midway lights, and the kind of laughter that follows your family all the way back to the parking lot. It is built in moments where your phone stays in your pocket because the real thing happening in front of you is better than anything you could post about later.

Fun Spot has always felt like one of those places to me.

It is Florida fun without pretending to be anything else. It is thrilling without being exhausting. It is nostalgic without feeling outdated. It is one of those rare places where kids get to be kids, parents get to relax a little, and everybody goes home feeling like the day was worth it.

And in a world where everything seems more expensive, more complicated, and somehow less personal, that kind of place becomes more than an amusement park. It becomes part of your family story.

That is why I pay attention when Fun Spot does something special.

Right now, Fun Spot is running its Spring Break Season Pass Sweepstakes, and it is a pretty simple one to enter. According to the official page, they are giving away one season pass each week in March, with four total winners, and the entry is free with no purchase necessary. The sweepstakes runs from March 1, 2026 through March 31, 2026, is open to legal U.S. residents age 18 and older, and allows one entry per person per week. Winners are selected at random and contacted by email.

The nice part is this is not one of those enter-your-life-story contests. On the official Fun Spot page, it says to fill out the quick form with your information and hit submit. That is it. No purchase necessary.

The prize is a Fun Spot America Season Pass valid at Orlando, Kissimmee, and Fayetteville. (That’s Fayetteville, GA, not NC)

So if you are a Florida parent, or honestly just someone who loves the idea of stretching one great day into a whole season of great days, it is worth entering.

You can sign up right on Fun Spot’s official sweepstakes page by completing the form under “Win a Fun Spot Season Pass!” and submitting your info. For the full eligibility details and terms, check the official rules on that same page.

For me, this is bigger than a giveaway.

It is a chance at more yes.

More afternoons where nobody is talking about work.
More family photos where nobody is trying too hard.
More roller coaster screams.
More bad parking lot singing on the way home.
More memories your kids will not fully appreciate until they are older and suddenly realize Dad was not just taking them to a park, he was trying to give them a childhood they would carry forever.

That is what places like Fun Spot can do.

They give families a backdrop for joy.
They give parents a way to show up.
They give kids a day that feels enormous.
And sometimes, if you are lucky, they give you a whole season of it.

So yes, I love Fun Spot.
Not just because it is fun, though it absolutely is.
I love it because it still feels like a place built for families like mine.
A place where being together is the main attraction.

And in Florida, that is about as good as it gets.

As any parent can tell you- make the most of the time you have-it goes by way too fast.
