As uncertainty rolls over us in waves during this coronavirus outbreak, we are bombarded with news, rumors and other items that make us miss the “normalcy” of a few years ago However, I believe we will never go back to what we believed was “normal”. Education, economy, businesses, travel, entertainment and other aspects of life will be completely transformed from this unprecedented pandemic event.
And this is not a bad thing. Some things need a disruption. Any honest person would agree that for some time there has been a decline in our schools, in our national morality, in our sense of community and even in our sense of self. Although uncertainty prevails now, eventually this will end.
Maybe once all this blows over-
-students who hated school will realize that it is actually pretty good place to make friends, socialize, learn, etc.
-we will value our teachers for being able to handle not 1 or 2 like we are at home but 20-30 at a time
– instead of being stuck in a professional rut, you will be forced to change careers and instead find something worthwhile.
– businesses stuck in traditional methods will embrace remote opportunities and other dynamic changes and make that the new status quo, coming out streamlined, stronger and better than ever before.
-families who have been forced to spend more time together and bond over difficult times will make that as part of their pattern
-people will see just how good we had it and be grateful for the little things (I will always believe gratefulness is the center point of all success and character)
So, anchor down, brave the crashing waves and roaring winds of this event and once it is over-, we will remain strong because you will learn (like I already know) no adversity can extinguish the indomitable human spirit.
(I love this attached quote by Leigh Bardugo- writing about being unbreakable brought it to my mind. )
