Fun Spot Summer Vacation 2025

We Visited Fun Spot This Weekend – And Why You Should Too

This past weekend, we packed up the kids, grabbed some sunscreen, and headed out to Fun Spot – and honestly, it was one of the most fun weekends we have had this year.

If you’re planning a trip to Orlando or you already live nearby and are looking for something fun (and affordable) to do with your family, hear me out: Fun Spot is absolutely worth adding to your list — whether it’s for a one-day adventure or for grabbing season passes and making it a go-to hangout all summer long.

Here’s why:

Big Enough for Adventure, Small Enough to Actually Enjoy

We’ve done the massive parks – and don’t get me wrong, they’re incredible – but sometimes they feel more like a marathon than a vacation.
Fun Spot strikes that perfect balance: it’s packed with excitement, but it’s small and personal enough that you don’t spend half your day just hiking between attractions, waiting in lines for an hour on a light day, or having to get a second mortgage on your house just to pay for the day.

Within minutes of walking through the gates, we were already riding, laughing, and making memories — not checking our watches and wondering if we would beat the 55 minute wait time that the sign posts say at the big park for a 4 minute ride.

If you’re visiting Orlando and you want a day that’s all about fun without the stress, this is your place. And if you’re a local? Imagine having a spot you can pop into for a few hours on a Saturday morning with the kids without planning your whole life around it. Season passes suddenly make a lot of sense.

Rides for Every Age (and Courage Level)

I have a little daredevil and a very cautious dreamer, (twins) and an older son out of the house who visits occasionally- and somehow, Fun Spot managed to hit the sweet spot for all of them.

  • My tweens couldn’t get enough of White Lightning, the wooden roller coaster that gives you just the right amount of “am I about to fly out of my seat?” feeling.
  • And the go-karts… oh man, the go-karts.
Multi-level tracks, sharp turns, bridges – it was like stepping into our own family racing league. (And yes, I lost. Badly. But at least I did it with style.)

Free Parking, Free Admission = More Fun for Your Dollar

Let’s be real: summer vacations and family days can get expensive fast.
One thing I loved about Fun Spot was that parking and admission are free. You only pay for what you ride or opt for a wristband and go all out. I have spent 30-55 dollars at major theme parks before we even stepped through the gates.

And if you live in Central Florida? Season passes are honestly a steal compared to the cost of just one day at some of the bigger parks.
You could come back a dozen times this summer and still not spend what you would on a single mega-park ticket.

(Plus, I like knowing I can swing by just for an evening ride session and some funnel cake without feeling like I’m wasting a day’s wages.)

Good Food (That’s Actually Good)

Another thing that impressed me this weekend? The food didn’t suck.
Usually, “theme park food” means soggy fries and mystery meat burgers at gourmet (gouge) prices. Not here. We grabbed fresh pizza, loaded nachos, churros, and a funnel cake that my kids are still talking about like it was a religious experience.

There are plenty of spots to sit in the shade too – which, if you’ve been to Florida in Summer, you know is not a luxury, it’s a necessity for survival.

Fun Spot Has Events All Summer Long

With so many things to do, every trip there can be a unique experience. While you can hit everything in one day, you can also choose to break it up. One day the kids may just want to Go kart race after race, after race. My daughter loves roller coasters. She will ride one and get back in line to redo it all over again. Repeat.

If you’re a local, it’s the perfect “we don’t have plans but want to do something fun” backup all summer long.

Relaxed, Real, and Full of Heart

Maybe the best thing I can say about our trip this weekend is this:
It felt real.
No overproduction. No insane crowds. No pressure to plan out every minute or get in line three hours early for anything.
Just rides, laughs, a few friendly competitions, good food, and a whole lot of family moments that we’ll remember long after this year is over.

Sometimes, that’s all you really want out of a summer day.
And sometimes, that’s exactly what you need.

Vacationers and Locals, Listen Up

If you’re visiting Orlando and want a day that’s pure fun without the full-scale theme park chaos — go to Fun Spot. Trust me. Your wallet and your sanity will thank you.
And if you’re a local?
Get the season pass.
Use it for random date nights, after-school treats, weekend races, and getting out of the house to have fun. You’ll never regret having a place that feels like summer is just a drive away.

Fun Spot’s slogan is “It’s HUGE!” – but this past weekend, it wasn’t just huge in size.
It was huge in heart, in laughs, and in character. I tell my kids often- You have the rest of your lives to be adults- be a kid and make the most of it as long as you can.

I am grateful for Fun Spot, because it helps us do exactly that.

P.S Bring sunscreen, drink plenty of water.
